I’m a lucky lady to have friends who will try all the food I make, no matter how disastrous (I’m thinking specifically of some blueberry muffins I made a few weeks ago that had way too much baking powder…). But for my little dinner gathering tonight, I’m using tried and trusted recipes. The pasta dish is one of those homey comfort foods that’s perfect for summer because of the fresh basil. I’m serving it with garlic & herb bread, and my friend Miranda is kind enough to make the salad. (I think she’s bringing some sort of watercress & grapefruit salad- yum!) For dessert, I’m making a lemon & blackberry tart (recipe posted elsewhere on here) that uses mascarpone in the filling. Oh, and there will be wine. Probably lots of cheap wine.
