4th.

Happy almost 4th of July, everyone! I find the idea of this holiday generally disconcerting (getting drunk & lighting fireworks in order to celebrate our ‘freedom’ makes me want to run for the hills), but I’m not cynical all the time and after two cocktails will probably participate in or encourage dangerous activities.
Below are some photos that were submitted to a Design*Sponge photography contest (they embody summer perfectly) and some wonderful recipes that would be great for the 4th. I’m going to Whidbey Island, which is north of Seattle and really, really pretty.
