“small cheer and great welcome make a merry feast.”
Here’s a list of some great recipes I’ve compiled over the years. There are so many wonderful dishes for Thanksgiving! Vegetarians, fret not!

Thanksgiving Recipes Galore (including 3 appetizers, 7 sides, 7 main dishes, AND 4 desserts– whew!)
“Miss Molly, have you eaten meat AT ALL this week?” – student
“No, silly, I’m vegetarian.”
“How are you still alive?!?!?” – student
My family’s attitude toward vegetarianism once mirrored my 15-year-old student’s shock.
About a year ago, my family began to accept my vegetarianism without chalking it up to a whim or a hippy’s-foray into sustainability. Dare I say it, now I think they’re intrigued by the vegetarian lifestyle. I haven’t turned into a waif, and I feel full of energy and very healthy. I started bringing vegetarian options to family dinners, and people liked them! Novel! If you’re a vegetarian who feels chastised by her family, hit them with your best shot (read: bring something super delicious to dinner that will wow them).
Family dinners have subsequently become wonderful affairs. My mom made a wildly delicious red lentil soup last time. I made chana dal. My dad threw veggie burgers on the barbeque. Our family dinners feel more collaborative than they have in the past, and I’m very much looking forward to this year’s Thanksgiving. Time off, the potential for snow, and lots of cooking? I’m a happy lady.
Here are a few of my favorite healthy ideas for Thanksgiving. I think they’ll please even the most stringent carnivores among us. I hope you get to spend Thanksgiving with people you love (and who know how to cook.) lv, molly

I used to see Liv Tyler around the West Village, and I always assumed we’d be friends. Occasionally, I am presumptuous. Photobooth-style pictures are my favorite, and she looks like a fun lady.
I almost wrote, “Doesn’t she look like a hoot?” and I realized that’s something an 80-year-old might say. See the post about becoming a British Tory… I fear that was prophetic.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’m going out dancing tonight in celebration of a friend’s 30th bday. We all need a little more dancing in our lives.
Here are a few fall favorites you may enjoy… lv, molly
This plaid skirt. It’d be so cute to wear to Thanksgiving dinner.
Ginger scones. I want to make these right now. And I probably would if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve eaten pie everyday for the past 3 days.
Chipmunks stuffing their faces. Why oh why am I posting this? Oh, right, I have no shame.
The New York Times’ Vegetarian Thanksgiving recipe collection. Everything looks amazing, and I want it all.
Saveur’s collection of vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes. I wish there were a few more protein-rich options, but I’m pretty psyched about the recipe for onion quiche.
Thigh-high socks. Yep, I went there, and somehow they work. I’m as surprised as you are.
Liz Lemon trying on jeans.
Martha Stewart on “The Colbert Report.” I love everything about this video.
