A cup of tea? Yes, please.

So I just saw 500 Days of Summer with my friend Adrienne. I thought it was charming (a choreographed dance sequence! my favorite!) & bitter-sweet, but I’m not entirely sold on it- a little heavy-handed at times. Still, a good Saturday night. It’s lovely to see a friend so happy.

Just wanted to pass along a good music suggestion… If you like ladies with beautiful voices and smooth jams, Lisa Hannigan is for you. Hannigan is popular in Dublin, and I got into her music when I lived there (she’s so popular, in fact, that she’s featured in the gay-rights ad from Ireland I posted). I love these lyrics. xo, m

A much-needed accessory in her native Ireland.

A much-needed accessory in her native Ireland.

I went to sleep for the daytime
I shut my eyes to the sunshine
Turned my head away from the noise
Bruise and drip decay of childish toys
That I loved arguably
All our laboring gone to seed
Went out to play for the evening
We wanted to hold onto the feeling
On the stretch in the sun
And our breathlessness as we run
To the beach endlessly
As the sun creeps up on the sea

  1. Reunited with the boy after our 4 month ‘break’ at a Lisa Hannigan gig. We went as friends, and by the end we were making out. She’s magic.

  2. I’d never heard of Lisa Hannigan, but I’m loving her. Thanks for the tip!
