Save for the occasional reflection on family, education, or love, this space is usually reserved for a certain degree of frivolity because its main focuses are food, fashion, and poetry– an escape from everyday stress. In an age of hyper information, I rarely write about current events because that information is available everywhere, and you don’t need it on a food blog.

But in light of what happened in Japan and the destruction and heartbreak that’s currently happening there, it seems wrong to go on without acknowledging and trying to help as much or little as we can.

While I’m no expert on charities, the following have an excellent reputation internationally and are staging relief efforts in Japan currently. Sending peace, hope, and relief West. lv, molly
